Hanworth Villa Proud to Be Highly Commended at Middlesex FA Grassroots Awards

We are thrilled to have once again been nominated for a Grassroots Award at this year’s Middlesex FA Grassroots Awards. Last year, we were highly commended in the Ground Team of the Year category. This year, we were honored to be nominated as the county’s Club of the Year.
The award citation highlighted our 13 teams, ranging from Under-7s to the First Team, with over 300 registered players. We were nominated by Ashford Town (Middlesex) Women, who if you weren’t aware spent most of last season playing at Rectory Meadow while the new pitch was being laid at the Robert Parker Stadium.
An official from Ashford Town Women spoke about their time at Hanworth:
“The support has been overwhelming and has really blown us away. A truly lovely and extremely well-run football club nothing is too much trouble. They are genuinely a really nice and friendly group of people. From the chairman down, they are the best. This is how a club should be and how they should be seen throughout the local area and the football world. Hanworth Villa have set a standard for what an England Football-accredited club should be at any level: welcoming, professional, passionate, and truly rooted in the community.”
While we didn’t win the award, we were delighted to be highly commended alongside our neighbours, Hampton Rangers Juniors. The Club of the Year award went to Pinnacle Wolf FC.
It’s an honour to be recognised alongside such outstanding clubs, all doing remarkable work in their communities.
A huge thank you to our friends at Ashford Town Women for the nomination and their kind words. We wish you all the best now that you’ve returned home and hope you have a fantastic season ahead.
The awards were held at Brentford FCs Gtec Stadium and were attended by clubs from across the county.
