Sam Mead departs Villa
The club can confirm the departure of Sam Mead as he looks to pursue new opportunities.
Mead made his Villa debut against Chertsey Town in the Isthmian League South Central Division on 12 August 2023. During his time at Rectory Meadow, he made 116 appearances and scored 12 goals contributing to some important results.
Manager Simon Haughney paid tribute to Mead’s dedication and contribution to the squad:
“Sam has been a fantastic member of the group. He’s always shown real commitment and has worked incredibly hard to improve himself and his game. He’s given a lot to the club over the past few seasons, and it’s been a pleasure to work with him. We thank him for everything he’s contributed and wish him nothing but the very best for the next chapter in his playing career.”
That appreciation is shared by staff, volunteers and our supporters, who have followed Sam’s journey and contribution over the last 3 years.
