Non-League Day returns on Saturday 28th March, and with no English Premier League or EFL Championship fixtures taking place, it provides the perfect opportunity for football supporters to experience what the non-league game is all about. Celebrated across the country, Non-League Day shines a spotlight on community football and encourages fans to get down to their local ground, support grassroots clubs and enjoy the unique atmosphere that non-league football offers.
At Hanworth Villa we are proud to be part of the day, and this year we welcome Ascot United to Rectory Meadow for a 3pm kick-off in the Pitching In Isthmian League. The club is hoping to see a fantastic crowd for the occasion, and we have put together a number of special offers and activities to make it a memorable afternoon for both regular supporters and first-time visitors.
To help encourage as many people as possible to come along and support the Villa we are running a “Football for a Fiver” promotion, with all admission prices reduced to just £5 for adults, concessions and under-21s. Under-16s can still attend free with a paying adult (up to two per adult), or for just £1.
We are also pleased to extend a special welcome to supporters of professional clubs. Any season ticket holder from an English Premier League or EFL club can gain admission for just £1 on the day. Simply show your season ticket at the gate to take advantage of this offer and enjoy an afternoon of live football while your club isn’t playing.
Non-League Day is also about supporting the wider football community, and we are proud to be backing the campaign’s official charity partner, Prostate Cancer UK. For this fixture, our usual 50/50 draw will have a special twist, with the club’s share of the proceeds being donated directly to the charity. The main prize will still be 50% of the total pot, and to mark the occasion we will also be offering second and third prizes.
Days like this are a fantastic chance to experience everything that makes non-league football special, the close connection between players and supporters, the welcoming community atmosphere and the chance to support your local club.

Non-League Day was set up by James Doe in 2010 as a social media experiment, after being inspired by a pre-season trip to Devon to watch Queens Park Rangers play at Tavistock. It has now grown to become an annual part of the football calendar, backed by Premier League and Football League clubs, MPs, celebrities, media organisations, charities and most importantly the non-league clubs themselves and the fans who turn up on the day.
