League matters

06 January 24

On a weekend where we were looking forward to a bumper crowd, our best efforts to put on a game were scuppered by the weather and perhaps an over-cautious official, but the less said about that the better.

All but four games in our league fell foul of the recent wet weather with three of the participants taking full advantage of us not playing.

Marlow, whose recent form has left them vulnerable for the playoff spaces and Westfield, who’ve crept up on the inside, put some significant distance between us and them with both now sitting seven points ahead of us on 40pts.

Thatcham also did the business, with an impressive away win at Ascot which saw them overtake us and push us down into eighth as a result.

Meanwhile Badshot Lea lost the chance to go on equal points with us with a draw against a tenacious Met Police side.
