Changes at Rectory Meadow

Jul 25, 2024

During the summer break, prior to the 2023-24 season, our small but extremely dedicated army of volunteers set about some critical work to update the facilities around the ground at Rectory Meadow. This work continued throughout the season and indeed over the recent summer we’ve seen further improvements at Rectory Meadow.

The clubhouse

The clubhouse received a major internal refurbishment with makeovers for every room including the home, away and officials’ changing rooms and an update to the laundry facilities. The clubhouse bar was repainted, refreshed and is now brighter and slicker than ever with big screens updated live with the latest information about the club.

The outside bar

The new season saw us unveil our new outside bar “Marilyn’s” named after the Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe who has been associated with the club for many years.

Burger van

A major addition to the club thanks to the recruitment of new volunteers is the fabulous new burger van which sits pitchside. Already we’re getting a reputation for some of the best burgers in the league and with our ace chefs tucked away in the van it’s no surprise.

Club shop

This season saw the addition of a new club shop selling matchday programmes and merchandise including sweatshirts, polo shirts, bobble hats, scarves and beanies.

New branding

As well as the investment around the ground we unveiled new branding to help take the club forward. This included the stylish club logo, new kits and has seen new merchandise become available in our club shop.

Staff and volunteers now wear Hanworth Villa branded “staff” outfits to make them easily identifiable to fans.

We can’t thank you enough

We’d love to thank each and every person individually on here who has helped us out over the years, but for fear of missing someone out we’ll play it safe and instead pass on our eternal thanks to everyone who’s ever volunteered…

… from those that have looked after the pitch, maintained the grounds, painted the clubhouse, scrubbed the shower rooms, cleaned the air vents, refurbished the bars, put up the fencing, placed all the advertising banners around the stadium, built the new burger van, outside bar, the list goes on and on.

Heartfelt thanks goes from us to those who’ve given up their time for free to help keep this club going. Volunteers are the lifeblood to a club like ours and without them we simply wouldn’t exist. If you feel like lending a hand around the club please speak to a member of staff on match day or email the club.
