Hanworth Villa Pre-Season Update: Fixtures and Preparations
As the new season approaches quickly, here's a brief update on the squad that Simon and the management team are building. With preparations well underway, we’ve lined up a packed schedule of pre-season fixtures that will give the squad valuable minutes on the pitch and test their skills against strong opposition. Due to ongoing work at Rectory Meadow, we won’t be able to host any home matches this pre-season. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our pre-season opponents for kindly offering to host these fixtures. Pre-Season Schedule

Friday 11th July – Cobham (Away)
We kick off our pre-season with a trip to Cobham. They finished 4th in the Combined Counties Premier Division South last season and narrowly missed out on promotion following a closely contested play-off final against Jersey Bulls. This will be a good early test for the team.
Tuesday 15th July – Woking XI (Away)
Next up is a fixture against a Woking XI at Woking College. While not a traditional football ground, there will be limited viewing available for spectators. Woking, of the Enterprise National League, are expected to field a young and dynamic side that will provide a stern challenge.
Saturday 19th July – Sheerwater (Away)
We then travel to face Sheerwater, who compete in the Combined Counties Premier Division South and finished 14th last season. They will no doubt provide another solid test for Simon and the squad.
Saturday 26th July – Loxwood (Away)
After a week of training, we head to West Sussex to play Loxwood. Now in the Southern Combination Football League Division One after being relegated from the Premier Division, Loxwood will be eager to bounce back this season and will pose a competitive challenge.
Tuesday 29th July – Hampton & Richmond Borough (Away)
As we near the end of our pre-season campaign, we face local Enterprise National League South neighbours Hampton & Richmond Borough. Alan Julian’s side finished 18th in Step 2 last season and will offer a strong technical test under the lights.
Saturday 2nd August – Walton & Hersham (Away)
We round off pre-season with a trip to Southern League Premier side Walton & Hersham. The two clubs have faced off many times over the years, most recently in last season’s Emirates FA Cup. It promises to be a fitting conclusion to our pre-season run.
This carefully selected schedule gives Simon and his management team a great opportunity to evaluate the squad, build match fitness, and fine-tune tactics ahead of the season opener on Saturday 9th August. We expect our full league fixture list to be released in mid-July so keep an eye on our channels for updates.
