Hanworth Villa have confirmed that key players Sam Merson, Mark Smith, Guy Ansah-Palmer, Ben Geraghty and Sam Mead have all committed to another season with the club, solidifying the spine of the team that reached last year’s play-off final.
The announcement is a major boost for the Villains as they prepare for the upcoming campaign. All four players were integral parts of the squad that came within touching distance of promotion last season, and their decision to stay signals both loyalty and ambition.
Forward Sam Merson, known for his work rate and clinical finishing, contributed vital goals during the club’s play-off run. Goalkeeper Mark Smith brings big experience and leadership at the back, from pulling off remarkable and vital saves last season to being a big character in the dressing room his continued involvement is big for Villa.
Sam Mead was Mr Dependable last season, a frequent inclusion in the squad and putting in some big performances at the heart of the mid-field.
Both Geraghty and Ansah-Palmer had troubled starts to the last campaign being set back with injuries, however both showed their commitment and desire in conquering those injuries and returning to the side at a vital time. Geraghty responsible for some first class defending and work on the wings saw him fit straight back into the team.
