Monday 28 August
On August Bank Holiday Monday we played Metropolitan Police and on balance of play should have done better than our single goal. Much of the game was played in their half and it was easy to lose count of how many times we launched the ball, particularly from Sam Merson’s many throw-ins (Delap style) and set pieces into their box but failed to capitalise.
We went behind, conceding in the first ten minutes after the second half restart for the sixth game running, to a stunning strike from way outside the box from Adam Green (52′). We equalised 10 minutes later through Kyen Nicholas (62′) popping up at the back post. And although we had the majority of possession and plenty of opportunities we didn’t manage to score the winner. Lots of positives from the game though and enough on display to suggest that things will turn around quickly.
Metropolitan Police: 1
Adam Green (52′)
Hanworth Villa: 1
Kyen Nicholas (62′)
Full match reports will appear in the new look programme at our next home game.
