Match report
Last season against Uxbridge we looked like Championship contenders in one of our best performances of the season. This game we looked like anything but.
In a disjointed game at the Honeycroft Villa looked second best. Every ball seemed to bounce for the home side (the pitch possibly may have helped) and we just never really capitalised when we had possession.
Uxbridge – a team armed with new signings – looked to get at us from the off and it wasn’t long before then broke the back line and scored through George Moore. Thankfully his shooting boots weren’t on properly as he peppered the area around our goal more than hitting it.
Goal: George Moore 17’ – Uxbridge 1 v 0 Villa
Our defence held firm throughout the game and we never really threatened their goal in a strangely staccato performance from our boys. As we built up a head of steam towards the end of the game Uxbridge delivered a sucker punch racing up the pitch for Ada Okorogheye to score..
Goal: Ada Okorogheye 82’ – Uxbridge 2 v 0 Villa
We got a consolation late on but aside from being another goal for the increasingly important Finlay Macnab it meant little in the context of the game.
