We overcame Ashford Town 4-1 in the Isthmian South Central League with goals from:
Sat 24th: Hordean defeat
Disappointing defeat at Horndean
Villa fall to a 2-0 loss away at league newcomers Horndean.
Sat 17th August: FA Cup win against Abbey Rangers
We welcomed Abbey Rangers down to Rectory Meadow in The Emirates FA Cup. As well as live Twitter commentary we also provided live commentary for the whole 90 minutes via our new radio station on Mixlr.
It ended 4-1 with Villa through to the next round of the cup where we now face old adversaries Walton & Hersham. Last time we faced them competitively was in the play-off final a couple of seasons ago where they pipped us to promotion.
Before then we face an away trip to Hordean in the league this coming Saturday, followed by a home game against Ashford Town on the bank holiday Monday – both 3pm kickoffs.
The season so far
Before the league campaign began there was the not so small matter of the FA Cup that saw us take on Knaphill and see out a 4-0 victory to progress into the next round.
Our first game of the League campaign we held highly fancied Raynes Park Vale to a 1-1 draw.
Under 18s through to the next round
Our under 18s managed a 1-0 to progress in the FA Youth Cup
