The Match preview 12/12/2023
We’ve not been able to play for a fortnight owing to the weather so it’s essential that we compete well against high-flying Leatherhead to ensure we keep our recent momentum going. This of course will not be an easy game – away from home at a side who’ve won five of their last six, who are currently sitting third in the table, some nine points ahead of us.
Despite our slow start to the season our form of late has been pretty good – there’s certainly been a real upturn in performances with individual players coming back into form and a real cohesiveness right across the team – so we’ve nothing to fear and will be determined to give a good showing of ourselves. Our opponents Leatherhead lost at home three weeks ago to Badshot Lea, so we’ve real belief we can do something similar and close the gap in the league between our two clubs.
We caught up with Simon prior to the training session on Thursday where Sallie posed the questions to him (I’ve been coughing a lot this week, which no one needs to hear, so I passed the interview baton on to her. I wholeheartedly apologise for the terrible handwriting on the script she was given which certainly made it hard for her to decipher as she was reading it).
